Unfortunately, the Wednesday Night League did not start well for Ed Barlow as he received an injury to the eye. Ed will be out of the league for awhile, but luckily his eye has not suffered any permanent damage. We’ll miss Ed and we look forward to his return. In the meantime, Philippe Abi Saleb will substitute.
James battled Sigi to win 3-1. Alex didn’t display his usual speed, and went down to defeat 3-0, in his match with the number 1 player, Yves. Jake and Maurice had a very exciting match, with Maurice the winner, 3-2. Monique made it “one for the ladies” as she beat Brian 3-1. Geoff and Scott, battling back and forth, had the crowd on its feet, with Geoff the victor 3-2.
All players are encouraged to wear protective glasses. All players are encouraged to take lessons to learn proper strokes and footwork to help prevent injuries. Darnley offers the best deal in town and the first lesson is free.
