Squash is an exciting fast-paced racquet sport, played within a four-walled court using a small black ball.  Required equipment is minimal and relatively inexpensive.  Players require a racquet, safety glasses, non-marking court shoes and a ball.

 Squash Facilities and Services at Physical Park

Physical Park has two new, beautifully maintained courts. Court 1 is located next to the Health Bar and court 2 is located behind court 1.  (Take the corridor to the right of court 1)

Players can purchase all necessary equipment in the Pro Shop, situated in front of court 1.

Racquets are strung, on the premises, by the squash pro.

Leagues, round robins and tournaments are organized for members.

Lessons, group and private are available with the squash pro.

There is a junior program offered. Parents can train, while their children receive instruction on the squash court with the pro.

Court Bookings

Members may reserve courts at the front desk or by calling the club. 450 424-9199.

Court times are 45 min. If the court is not booked, after, players may continue. There are no court fees.

If there is a lock on the court, there is a key at the front desk.

Cancellation Policy – it is important to inform the front desk about cancellations.

Squash Pro

Darnley Holder brings many years of experience to his position of Squash Pro at Physical Park. He combines his expertise with his sense of humor to make lessons enjoyable as well as worthwhile.

Darnley has coached many juniors to become North American and provincial champions. Several of his juniors won the distinction to represent Quebec, at the Canada Games, including winning a bronze medal.

• coaching juniors at tournaments

*New members will receive a Free Introductory Squash Lesson with Darnley. To book, they should leave their numbers at the front desk and Darnley will call. After the introductory lesson, Darnley can rank players, in relation to the club ranking system. Also, Darnley can suggest other players to call for a match.

Cost of lessons

• Private lesson – $35.00
• Semi-private – $20.00 per person (2)
• Group – $15.00 per person (3 or 4)
• Package of 10 private lessons – $250.00
• Junior Private – $25.00

Lessons can be booked with Darnley, personally, or by leaving a request with phone number and email address, at the front desk.

Wednesday Night League

The club runs a mixed ladder league, Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 9:00. Players try to work their way to the top of the ladder.  Matches are scheduled by the pro. It’s a great way to meet other members of the club with similar levels of ability.

Saturday Morning Round Robin

Saturday mornings, from 9:00 till 12:00, members may join a Round Robin run by the pro. Players rotate on and off the court after one game to 15. Winners stay on for a second match. This is an opportunity to meet other players and to compete against all levels.

Interclub

Physical Park enters various teams in the Montreal and surrounding area Interclub League.  This league is for players seeking a higher level of competitiveness. See Darnley. Squash fans are encouraged to come and cheer for the club team.

Club Championships

The squash season always ends with the exciting Club Championships.  A social, with food provided by the club and prizes, follow the matches. This event is always a big success!

Junior Program

Darnley Holder, the pro, has a special interest in working with juniors. Physical Park shares this enthusiasm and offers discounted memberships for juniors. Private lessons with Darnley are $25.00.

Guest Passes

Members may bring a guest for a fee of $15.00 plus tax. Guest passes may be obtained from the pro or at the front desk. A member may bring the same guest a maximum of three times.
