I was always one of those people who couldn’t find the lasting motivation to maintain the healthy choice of eating better and exercising. With some major life changes after my 40th birthday, I joined the gym and Victor became my personal fitness trainer.

I was out of shape and lazy, quick to give up and not push at my limits. Victor introduced me to circuit training, keeping our sessions fresh and exciting. Alternating between muscle groups, using free weights, machines and ropes my body has started to develop strength, endurance and toned muscle.

I discovered Physical Park Health Centre while researching the web for local rehabilitation centres in the spring of 2011.   I am in my mid-sixties and have had major knee problems for over 40 years.    At that time, I had my right patella removed because of osteo-arthritis.   Today there would be other less drastic treatments.   In June 2010 I had a total knee replacement in the same leg and in February 2011 I broke the ankle from a fall when my knee gave way on me.   After some 10 months working with a variety of excellent physiotherapists, the decision was made that I needed access to more sophisticate  equipment that would help me strengthen my leg.   My inability to walk up stairs due to lack of strength, to walk down stairs due to instability, to get up off the floor without a chair or bench to help me and my fear of walking on icy pavements made it clear that if I wanted to spend the next 20 years or so as a healthy active senior, I better focus on improving my fitness and stability.

 I was impressed by the rehabilitation services offered by the Physical Park Health Centre.  The receptionists were welcoming, helpful and sympathetic and suggested I meet with Osteopath and Posturologist Mat Boulé.   Mat has worked wonders with me!   Three days after my second session with him, when he gave me my magnetic insoles and tiny magnet to wear close to my left eye, I was walking with a confidence I had not felt since my early 20’s.

 It was now time to work with a physical trainer.   Mat spent time with Marc Charles, explaining my situation and indicating how he wanted him to slowly work on strengthening and stability.   They have continued to work as a professional team, regularly evaluating my progress.    Marc is a very talented young man with a passion for fitness and health.    He has been able to focus specifically on my very special needs.   He introduced me to the TRX system and his dreaded elastic bands.    In the past few weeks a new focus has been introduced by Marc with very grateful thanks from me to the owners of Physical Park who recently purchased some very specific rehabilitation equipment.   While these machines are designed primarily for stroke patients, to give them the confidence to work in a safe environment, it was clear that Marc could work with me in a way otherwise impossible.    I can do lunges and squats with increasing endurance and with the confidence that I will not fall or be unable to straighten.     I can now walk up stairs slowly, albeit with a rail to help me.  This week was the big breakthrough!    I got myself up off the floor mat with no help!

Marc knows how to push and encourage me to try things I thought I was incapable of.   I can see my fitness and endurance level improving and am even talking about being able to go out with snow shoes this winter.   This is something that was previously unthinkable.    So a very special thank-you to Mat, Marc and the staff and owners of the Physical Park for helping me to slowly and surely move forward towards reaching my goal of being a healthy active senior.

Just a quick word to let you know how a much I appreciated my time with Roman regarding my introduction to your gym and training schedule.  Roman showed me a very high professionalism and competencies of what he is doing.

I never been on gym of my life because for me it was only a big show but he showed me that we have to do it for ourselves and at our paste and I very enjoyed it.

In conclusion, I would recommend Roman to any of your news members because he is a good asset in your team and should I decide to have a personal trainer the choice will be very easy to make without any doubt.

Je suis membre au Physical Park depuis maintenant quelques années et je crois que ma décision de m’y inscrire, quoique un peu indécise au début, fut une des meilleures décisions prises.    En choisissant un centre d’entrainement, il était important pour moi de  me sentir à l’aise avec l’endroit et surtout  le personnel qui y travaille.    Physical Park me permet de réaliser non seulement mes objectifs au niveau de mes entrainements et ma santé, mais aussi de développer mes connaissances dans le domaine de la forme physique.  Dès mon inscription, j’ai rapidement senti l’importance que tout le personnel, autant du cote des entraineurs que le personnel administratif,  accord à chacun de ces membres.  Je crois fermement que Physical Park prend à cœur la réussite de ses membres.  On nous encourage et nous motive à se surpasser de façon incroyable.  De plus, Physical Park offre à ses membres une panoplie de cours complémentaires.  J’ai moi-même suivi quelques cours donc le cours de yoga offert par Maureen ainsi que celui de Ralph.  Ces cours m’ont permis d’agrandir mon programme d’entrainement en incorporant des nouvelles activités physiques que je n’aurais jamais osé tenter au paravent.  Bref, avec son personnel hautement qualifié, son atmosphère chaleureuse et la grande variété d’activités offertes, Physical Park est selon moi l’image d’un centre de conditionnement physique incomparable.

I am a member in the Physical Park a few years now and I think my decision to include me, though somewhat uncertain at first, was one of the best decisions. Choosing a training center, it was important for me to feel comfortable with the place and especially the staff working there. Physical Park allows me to achieve my goals not only in terms of my training and my health, but also to develop my knowledge in the field of fitness. Upon my entry, I quickly felt the importance that all staff, both on the side of the coaches that administrative staff, agree to each of these members. I firmly believe that Physical Park is at heart the success of its members. It encourages us and motivates us to excel in an incredible way. In addition,Physical Park offers its members a range of complementary courses. I myself took some courses so theyoga classes offered by Maureen and that of Ralph. These courses allowed me to expand my training program by incorporating new physical activities that I never dared to try to screen. In short, with its highly qualified staff, warm atmosphere and the wide variety of activities offered, Physical Park is in my opinionthe image of a gym like no other.

When Victor first started at Physical Park he called our house and offered my husband and I a free session with him for personal training. We accepted and have never looked back. I am so glad that he called, he is a very professional, skilled trainer who adapts to your abilities while always helping push beyond your limits in a safe environment. After suffering from a torn ACL in my right knee, it took 3 years to get my physically active lifestyle bak on track. This soccer season was the first time since then that I finally felt back in action! I have finally got myself going back to the gym, and was able to improve my endurance on the soccer field a great deal. After 3 years of a fairly sedentary lifestyle I discovered my muscles changed. They’re incredibly tight, and if I don’t stretch regularly, moving on the soccer field becomes very difficult! Physical Park provides an exquisite facility that allows me to work on strength, endurance, flexibility, and agility! There’s a wide variety of equipment to please the needs of each client. The staff is extremely friendly, and are always willing to help me achieve my goals. The entire vibe around the gym is always positive, and takes on the form of a small community, where individuals are all working towards the same goal of improving themselves. In addition having your own TV while doing cardio is an exceptional feature! When my workout comes to an end I never pass up the opportunity to indulge in the eucalyptus steam room, and invigorating experience that soothes the mind, body and soul! Suite à une blessure grave à l’abdomen nécessitant une intervention chirurgicale, mes médecins m’ont fortement recommandé de perdre du poids afin de faciliter la chirurgie ainsi que ma récupération. C’est ainsi que mes recherches pour un centre de santé ont débuté. Tout d’abord, j’ai visité les grandes bannières de l’industrie de la santé au Québec. À chaque fois, je quittais ces établissements avec l’impression qu’on portait peu d’attention à mes besoins spécifiques. De plus, ces établissements semblaient vieillissants et non adaptés à ce qu’un centre de santé devrait être de nos jours. J’ai finalement abouti au Physical Park suite à une recommandation d’un ami.

Dès notre arrivée au Physical Park, on remarque qu’il s’agit d’un vaste centre de santé moderne avec des équipements modernes. De plus, le personnel du Physical Park est très accueillant et à l’écoute de leurs clients. Suite à mon inscription, j’ai rencontré mon entraîneur personnel, Marc Charles. Ce dernier a su développer un programme personnalisé en considérant mes objectifs, mes  besoins et mes limites.

Marc a réussi à me rendre assez fort pour récupérer de la chirurgie et nous travaillons toujours sur la perte de poids. L’intensité des séances d’entraînement a donné des résultats étonnants.  Marc m’a permis d’aller au-delà de ce dont je croyais être capable et il m’a grandement aidé à me remettre en forme. Cela fait déjà presque un an que je suis membre du Physical Park et je peux honnêtement dire que j’ai vraiment hâte de m’entraîner. Si vous pensez entreprendre un programme de remise en forme, vous devez absolument vous rendre au Physical Park.

Following a serious abdominal injury that would ultimately require surgery, my doctors strongly suggested that I lose weight in order to facilitate the surgery and the ensuing recovery. Thus, my search for a health center began. First, I visited the large gym chains in Quebec. Every time, I left these establishements with the impression that little attention was given to my specific needs. In addition, they all seemed old and ill-adapted to what a health center should be today. I finally ended up at Physical Park following a recommendation from a friend.

As soon as you arrive at Physical Park, you notice that it is a large modern health center with modern facilities. In addition, the staff is very welcoming and attentive to their customers.  After becoming a member, I met my personal trainer, Marc Charles. He developed a personalized program that took into consideration my goals, my needs and my limitations.

Marc managed to get me strong enough to recover from surgery and we are still working on weight loss. The intensity of the workouts has yielded amazing results. Marc has helped me raise the bar on what I believed I could handle and he has been a tremendous help in getting me back in shape. I have been a member of Physical Park for nearly a year and I can honestly say that I actually look forward to working out. If you are thinking of starting a training routine, you should definately check out Physical Park.

Health is everything, and it’s never too late to get in shape!  Three years ago, a meeting with Michel Fischer, a trainer at Physical Park changed my life …. I was 53 years young,  though felt and likely looked much older due to lack of exercise and poor habits. I was debilitating tired most days, experiencing the onset of many age and excess weight related issues. He committed to helping me focus on appropriate training and directed me to resources providing sound nutritional information and advice. With his help and motivation, not only did I shed a considerable amount of weight, lower my blood sugar and cholesterol levels, greatly increase my strength, endurance and flexibility,  most importantly I regained control of my life. You are so lucky you don’t have a weight problem, seem to be able to eat what you want and are so active ….I just smile when this comment is directed to me. Yes I am lucky …… to have found the initial motivation to commence the journey, a great training facility and above all a coach and trainer who cares about my health and well being. So if you’re an early riser, I’ll be seeing you at the club!

Hey Alex, as you may know last Friday morning paramedics were at your gym for a guy that did not feel to good… That Guy was me!! I just want to point out the fast response and professionalism of your staff especially Michel Fischer (trainer). His was very supportive and reassured me threw this disturbing occurance and I still do not understand moment!!! He even called me this weekend to verify if I was ok and called my father twice to reassure him during that 15 min period that felt for me like an hour! Michel from front desk was also very friendly. I think other people were involved but I was on another planet and did not noticed there faces or names!! :) :) In short, I think it is important to let you know how your employees dealt with this unusual situation and of course to share my deepest gratitude!

Being an older woman, the thought of going to an exercise class with much younger people was a bit intimidating, to say the least. So, when Sherry’s exercise boot camp was offered at the perfect time after work, I still hesitated to make the commitment. But not for long! The thing I love most about working out with Sherry is the way she adapts even the most difficult exercises to everyone’s level of ability. It didn’t take long before I started feeling stronger and saw a noticeable change in my body shape and weight. Having fun and meeting new people made it easy to go every week.

I just recently joined Physical Park. Let me start off by saying…forget the GYM concept. Physical Park is a Health center and really the only center in our area. You have a friendly greeting as you walk in; you don’t have that intimidating feeling of who’s watching and really everyone here makes you feel at home (staff & members). Just to say, how many Health centers or gyms actually have the first tour done by the owner?? Doesn’t matter what I write here, most people are visual, so I suggest you come and see for yourself.

Effectivement je suis membre depuis l’ouverture et utilise le gym de 4 à 5 jours semaine. Cela fait maintenant parti de mon style de vie. J’aime bien l’atmosphère de ce gym. Je m’y rend soit tôt le matin ou sur l’heure du lunch et j’ai toujours accès aux équipements, jamais d’attente. Depuis le début, le Physical Park m’a introduit à plusieurs style d’exercises que je n’avais encore jamais pratiqué tels le spinning, le yoga, les séances d’étirement avec Vince et plus récemment l’entrainement par interval/TRX avec Marc.

La pratique du sport en général m’a toujours apporté beaucoup de bien être. Le Physical Park est facile d’accès pour moi et me permet de continuer à me sentir bien et en forme.

La santé est primordiale et il n’est jamais trop tard pour se mettre en forme!  Il y a trois ans, lors d’une rencontre avec Michel Fischer, un entraîneur de Physical Park, ma vie a été complètement transformée… J’étais jeune, seulement 53 ans, mais je paraissais et me sentais beaucoup plus vieux à cause du manque d’exercice et de mauvaises habitudes. Je ressentais une fatigue débilitante la plupart du temps et je voyais le début de plusieurs problèmes venant avec l’âge et un excès de poids. Il s’est engagé à m’aider, à me concentrer sur un entraînement et des conseils appropriés. Grâce à sa motivation, j’ai perdu une quantité de poids considérable, j’ai abaissé mon taux de sucre et mon niveau de cholestérol, j’ai grandement amélioré ma force, mon endurance et ma flexibilité et, de façon encore plus importante, j’ai retrouvé le contrôle de ma vie. Vous êtes très fortunée de ne pas avoir de problème de poids, de pouvoir manger quoi que vous désiriez et d’être très active… je sourie lorsque je reçois ce genre de commentaire. Oui, je suis fortunée… d’avoir découvert la motivation initiale de débuter ce périple, un centre de conditionnement aussi fantastique et, surtout, un entraîneur et mentor qui se soucie de ma santé et de mon bien-être. Donc, si vous êtes un lève-tôt, je vous rencontrerai au gym!
